This church is one of the worldwide branches of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, USA, which was founded by Mary Baker Eddy on the teachings of Christ Jesus, and is “... designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing” (Church Manual, p. 17).
We hold regular public services, and also provide a community reading room that is open for all.
How can we move away from fear, sickness, and strife into something
better? Prayer, as it’s explained through the lens of Christian
Science, is a tool for bringing a different viewpoint, and ultimately
healing, to any situation. Prayer is getting beyond surface level
judgements to a deeper sense of God’s nature - all-good, all-loving
- defining all things. It helps us see how natural health, wholeness
and harmony are, here and now, in a way that not only benefits us, our
family, our colleagues, and our friends, but also it benefits the world.
You’re warmly invited to attend our Services where you’ll hear music, singing, scriptural readings, prayer, and a sermon.
A Reading Room is both a bookstore and a quiet place for prayer and study, where everyone is welcome.
The Daily Lift podcasts are short takes on inspiring ideas to enrich your day and share with friends.
The Daily Thought is a selected daily citation from the current week’s Bible Lesson.
The Monitor’s aim is to embrace the human family, shedding light with the conviction that understanding the world’s problems and possibilities moves us towards solutions.
Sentinel Watch weekly podcasts tackle topics relevant to daily life, inspiring our prayers for the world.
